Terry’s Nails: What Are The Causes, Symptoms and Treatmentsより

 

The condition was first described by Dr. Richard Terry in 1954, hence the name. He found it in association with patients who also had hepatic cirrhosis.

１９５４年にリチャード・テリーが肝硬変の爪として名付けた。

The pathogenesis, or manner in which the condition develops, is not completely understood. One possibility is that vascular changes in the nail bed can cause the appearance to change, but more study is required on this front.

メカニズムは完全にはわかっていない。爪床の血管の変化と考えらている。

疑うべき疾患

・肝硬変・２型糖尿病・うっ血性心不全・慢性腎不全・末梢血管疾患

 

鑑別　ハーフアンドハーフネイル(Lindsay’s nail)　慢性腎疾患を示す。

８０％以上白かったら、テリーズネイルで２０－８０％ならリンジーズネイル。
